Description
40 Amp bi-directional solid state switch series is designed for AC switching and phase control applications such as motor speed and temperature modulation controls, lighting controls, and static switching relays.
Alternistor type devices only operate in quadrants I, II, & III and are used in circuits requiring high dv/dt capability.

Applications
   Excellent for AC switching and phase control applications

General Description
Teccor offers bidirectional Alternistors with current ratings from 6 A to 40 A and voltages from 200 V to 1000 V as part of Teccors broad line of thyristors. Teccors Alternistor is specifically designed for applications that switch highly inductive loads. A special chip offers the same performance as two thyristors (SCRs) wired inverse parallel (back-to-back), providing better turn-off behavior than a standard triac. An Alternistor may be triggered from a blocking to conduction state for either polarity of applied AC voltage with operating modes in Quadrants I, II, and III.
This new chip construction provides two electrically separate SCR structures, providing enhanced dv/dt characteristics while retaining the advantages of a single-chip device.

■ Features
1.Abundant Variations of Attenuators
    Attenuation amounts are available in abundant variations from 0 to 4 dB in 0.5 dB steps, from 4 to 10 dB in 1 dB steps, and in 12, 13, 14, 15, 20, 26 and 30 dB so that levels can be finely adjusted.

2.SMA Type
    The coupling portions are available in all types of plug and jack combinations and stainless steel is used for the external cladding to form a small and durable structure.

3.High Degree of Matching and High Reliability
    The design of the attenuation element uses a distributed constant circuit and metal film resistor. A high degree of matching is achieved as indicated in the VSWR of the appended tables. Furthermore, these attenuators show stable characteristics for environments of varying temperature, humidity, and gases.
