Description
The HD74HC4518 dual BCD counter and the HD74HC4520 dual binary counter consist of two identical, independent, internally synchronous 4-stage counters. The counter stages are type D flip-flops, with interchangeable Clock and Enable lines for incrementing on either the positive-goingor negative-going transition as required when cascading multiple stages. Each counter can be cleared by applying a high level on the Reset line. In addition, the HD74HC4518 will count out of all undefined states within two clock periods. These complementary MOS up counters find primary use in multi-stage synchronous or ripple counting applications requiring low power dissipation and/or high noise immunity.

Description
The SC4520 is a current mode switching regulator with an integrated switch and an adjustable frequency with enable function. The integrated switch allows for cost effective, low power solutions with a peak switch current of 3 amps. An adjustable high frequency of 100kHz to 600kHz provides for fast dynamic response and instantaneous duty cycle adjustment as the input varies, making the device ideal for CPE applications where the input is a wall plug power. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 74HC/HCT4520 are high-speed Si-gate CMOS devices and are pin compatible with the “4520” of the “4000B” series. They are specified in compliance with JEDEC standard no. 7A.
The 74HC/HCT4520 are dual 4-bit internally synchronous binary counters with an active HIGH clock input (nCP0) and an active LOW clock input (nCP1), buffered outputs from all four bit positions (nQ0 to nQ3) and an active HIGH overriding asynchronous master reset input (nMR).
The counter advances on either the LOW-to-HIGH transition of nCP0 if nCP1 is HIGH or the HIGH-to-LOW transition of nCP1 if nCP0 is LOW. Either nCP0 or nCP1 may be used as the clock input to the counter and the other clock input may be used as a clock enable input. A HIGH on nMR resets the counter (nQ0 to nQ3 = LOW) independent of nCP0 and nCP1.

The TC74HC4520A is high speed CMOS DUAL BCD/4-BIT BINARY COUNTER fabricated with silicon gate C2MOS technology.
It achieves the high speed operation similar to equivalent LSTTL while maintaining the CMOS low power dissipation. Since it contains two independent counter circuits in one package, counting or frequency division of eight binary bits can be achieved with one device. The counter is reset to “O” (Q0 to Q3 low) by setting the CLR input high regardless of the other inputs. Counting occurs on the positive going (rising edge) transition of CK if CE is high or the negative going (falling edge) transition of CK if CE is low.
All inputs are equipped with protection circuits against static discharge or transient excess voltage.
